A House Divided

Look at America. Look at us and how we are on such opposite ends of the spectrum politically. There is no middle ground for most people. Once you label yourself as either party, the other party hates you. Do you think hate is a strong word? It is. Hate and rage have permeated our country.

We've all heard the old adage that a house divided can not stand. It's true. Our enemies know this and are already planning how to use it to their advantage.

As a Real Estate Broker, one of the first things I check when viewing a home is the foundation. If the foundation isn't solid, the entire structure is compromised. Can it be fixed? It depends on the extent of the damage. The foundation of our country is crumbling. The things our founding fathers fought for, died for and wrote into our constitution are falling by the wayside.

Our current government is in shambles. We are constantly fed propaganda. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are trustworthy. There is no transparency of any sort. Many of the articles viewed through news channels are opinion pieces. Yet, these are published on streaming services and everyone feeds off of these commentaries. This piece is just my opinion.

How is it a Democracy when we aren't allowed to vote for the nominees? When did it become legal and acceptable for a few people to collaborate, endorse a candidate, and snap - they're the Democratic nominee for President of The United States? My question from my old literature class is, "Who decides? What is their agenda? Where was this decision made? When was it made? Why make it so swiftly? How can we believe anything they say?

Kamala Harris has shown me nothing over the last four years that gives me any confidence in her ability to do anything but dress up, show up, giggle and get paid. The Democrats are basically trying to buy the African American and female vote all in one fell swoop.

I refuse to vote for someone because of their heritage or gender. I want to know what have they done to improve our world? I don't like Donald Trump. He is an arrogant and egotistical man. However, while he was in office we could afford our necessities. Our country was thriving. The job market was better, our salaries covered housing, cars, food, gas and utilities. I don't look at him as who he is. I look at what he did for us while he was President of The United States

The business people of the world have been trained for years, "Don't talk sex, politics or religion."

For the most part that's good advice. However, the Democrats are shouting their sex, politics and religion to the rooftops while most Republicans are keeping quiet. That's what happened when Donald Trump was elected in 2016. The Republicans voted in force, shocking the Democratic smugness of Hilary Clinton. I will never believe the 2020 election was legitimate.

The deterioration of our country during the last four years is horrendous. Victims have less rights than criminals. Our service industries don't make enough money to cover home, utilities, groceries and gas. Our elderly, who are on a fixed income, have had their necessities triple in price since the Biden Administration took over. Many of our senior citizens have had to re-enter the workforce to survive.

Call me Chicken Little if you want, but I believe the sky will fall if we, as Americans, can't pull this country back together. The last 4 years have shown me why the Civil War happened. It happened because our country was incredibly divided and neither side would compromise.

Can our foundation be preserved and built upon? It isn't going to happen unless we find common ground.
